What you plant is important. So is how you plant it. There are a few "do's" and "don'ts" to follow when it comes to shaping the perfect lawn. Let's take a look at some of them!
THE DO'S AND DON'TS OF LAWNSCAPING
DO: Think about the design of your home. If you live in a more traditional-style home, such as a Colonial or Tudor home, you'll want to opt for a more traditional, symmetrical design. If you live in a more modern-style home, you can go for more casual designs.
DON'T: Plant large trees close to foundations or driveways. Trees with large root systems can cause some serious damage to both. In turn, this can cause damage to your home or your vehicle.
DO: Make your lawn - and by extension, your home - look inviting! A bare walkway can make your home seem a little unwelcome. Dress up the surrounding area with bold plants and interesting colors to make your home feel, well, more like home!
DON'T: Overcrowd your plants. Overcrowding your plants leaves less room for them to grow. Overcrowding also reduces air circulation, which can invite pests and diseases to destroy your plants.
